We are interested in answering the cutting edge questions in astrophysics, planetary science, and solar physics through observations coupled with laboratory astrophysics studies in atomic, molecular, condensed matter, and plasma physics.



The Savin Group currently consists of a fluctionating number of Ph.D. scientists, undergraduates, and high school students led by senior research scientist Dr. Daniel Wolf Savin. The solar physics research is lead by his close collaborator research scientist Dr. Michael Hahn. The group has strong collaborative bonds on both the national and international level.

Aug 2021:The Savin Group welcomes Dr. Daniel Paul who joins the group to study dissociative recombination for astrochemistry.

Dec 2020:The Savin Group welcomes Dr. Garima Joshi who joins the group solar-physics-motivated plasma physics studies.

Feb 2020:The Savin Group welcomes Dr. Stefan Hofmeister who joins the group for solar physics studies.
