Radiative Processes (GR6001)

Main Goal: to develop a fairly rigorous background in radiative processes relevant to various branches of astrophysics.

Required Book: Radiative Processes in Astrophysics", by G.B. Rybicki and A.P. Lightman.

I will also use Jules Halpern's lecture notes.

Problem Sets: Approximately 8 problem sets will be handed out.

Exams: There will be a shorter midterm and a longer final.

Grading: Homework (50%), Final (30%), Midterm (20%), Participation (10%)
