Swfit Black Hole

Optical Counterpart of Swift J1753.5-0127
ATEL #549; J. P. Halpern
Observing on the MDM 2.4m telescope on 2005 July 2 04:40 UT, I find a bright optical counterpart of Swift J1753.5-0127 as reported in ATEL #546 and ATEL #547. A new star at (J2000) 17h53m28.3s, -01d27'06" (uncertainty radius ~1"), within the Swift XRT error circle, but not visible on the DSS, has R~15.8 in comparison with a nearby USNO B1.0 star.
