Public Viewing Nights
events organized for the general public

The Department of Astronomy sponsors public viewing through the telescopes on the roof of Pupin Physics Laboratories on the evenings of the first and third Fridays of the month during the academic year, weather permitting. Project ASTRO NOVA
outreach to the public schools

Members of the Department of Astronomy participate in Project ASTRO NOVA of New Jersey, Project ASTRO NOVA of New Jersey, a cooperative program between astronomers and public school teachers to enhance learning of astronomy for public school students, and part of a national coalition of such efforts organized by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific with support from NASA and the NSF. .
