FILTERS

The initial complement of filters planned are primarily based on the KPNO Harris set, and close to Johnson U, Johnson B, Johnson V, Johnson R and Kron-Cousins I, along with an extended Cousins R (R_jt) used by the VATT/Columbia and MEGA projects to study microlensing in M31. The filters must have a minimum active region of 5.5 inches (squares) in order to avoid vignetting. The filters are 5.75 inch (square) in order to be directly compatible with KPNO/MOSAIC. These are close to parfocal, and close to consistent with focus for KPNO/MOSAIC filters. Tabulated values and plots of the filter transmission curves are shown below. They do not include the other factors in the system response.
